We are delighted to announce the date of our next Bodmin College Open Evening, taking place on Thursday 1 October, from 5.00pm to 7.30pm.

Step inside Bodmin College and discover the AIR we breathe – a community shaped by Ambition, Integrity and Respect.

From the fizzes and bangs of Science to inspiring performances in Music, Dance and Drama, and opportunities to get involved in Sport, there will be plenty for everyone to enjoy and explore. Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to experience our school community and see how our values help every student to thrive.

Who is the event for?

Our Open Evening is primarily aimed at prospective students and families who are considering Bodmin College for September entry, particularly those currently in Years 5 and 6.

However, all families who would like to find out more about our school are very welcome to attend.

Planning your visit

Headteacher Talks

There will be three repeated 30-minute Headteacher Talks throughout the evening, held in The Studio.

Families are invited to register in advance and select their preferred time slot.

You do not need to begin your visit with a Headteacher Talk. We recommend allowing at least 60 minutes to explore the school, although there will be plenty to see and do, so you may wish to allow longer!

If you are booking the 6.45pm Headteacher Talk, please ensure that you arrive earlier in the evening to give yourself enough time to explore the school beforehand.

Families are also very welcome to arrive from 5.00pm and stay for the duration of the event.

Parking

A map of the school site will be available below, highlighting the parking available at both the front and rear of the school, as well as the location of The Studio, where the Headteacher Talks will take place.

Sign in and collect your goodie bag!

When you arrive, please sign in at either The Studio or Main Reception.

You will then receive your goodie bag and school map, helping you make the most of your visit.

We look forward to welcoming you and showing you what makes Bodmin College such a special place to learn, grow and thrive.

Guided Accessible Tours – 4.30pm, 4.40pm & 4.50pm

We want all families to feel comfortable and confident when visiting Bodmin College. As part of our Open Evening, we are therefore offering a small number of bookable Guided Accessible Tours, taking place shortly before the main event begins.

These tours are particularly suitable for children and/or family members who may need additional time or support when moving around our school site, or who may benefit from a quieter and more supported start to their visit.

Tours will begin at:

  • 4.30pm

  • 4.40pm

  • 4.50pm

A member of our team will meet you and guide you around the school, allowing you to explore key areas and ask questions in a calmer environment before the main Open Evening begins at 5.00pm.

We will aim to structure the tour so that families attending one of these sessions are able to join the 6.00pm Headteacher Talk in The Studio. This will give you the opportunity to enjoy the guided tour at a comfortable pace before joining the wider Open Evening.

Places on these tours are limited and must be booked in advance.

Our aim is to make sure every child, and family has the opportunity to experience Bodmin College in a way that feels comfortable, welcoming and right for them.
