Ten Tors
The Ten Tors Challenge is one of the most exciting outdoor adventures you can take part in while at school. Held every year on the stunning Dartmoor National Park, it’s a test of teamwork, endurance, and determination. Teams of students plan and complete a long-distance walk across the rugged moorland, visiting ten tors over a distance that can range from 35 to 45 miles.
This isn’t just a walk – it’s a true adventure. You’ll navigate using maps and compasses, tackle challenging terrain, and face changing weather, all while working closely with your team. Along the way, you’ll learn new skills like route planning, campcraft, and how to look after yourself and others in the outdoors. The challenge pushes you physically and mentally, helping you discover what you’re capable of and building confidence that lasts far beyond the event.
Taking part in Ten Tors is also a chance to create amazing memories with friends, share laughs and achievements, and feel the incredible sense of pride that comes from completing something tough but rewarding. It’s an adventure you’ll never forget – and one you’ll be proud to say you conquered.
