NEW: Anti-Bullying Week
Anti-Bullying Week 2020 is being held between the 16th and 20th November and is organised by Anti-Bullying Alliance. This year the theme is ‘United Against Bullying’. Bodmin College will be supporting Anti-Bullying week by completing activities during tutor time, which have been designed to encourage students to think about how we can unite to address bullying both online and offline.
We will be reminding students about our new online bullying reporting tool: Full Stop. All students have a scannable QR code in their planner to access this.
Furthermore, we will also be supporting Odd Socks Day. It’s an opportunity to encourage people to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique! Students may, if they choose to, wear an odd pair of socks to school on Monday 16th November 2020. This day is primarily about raising awareness, and whilst there is no obligation to make a donation, parents/students/workplaces may choose to make a donation to the Anti Bullying Alliance if desired.
Please keep an eye on our own social media channels next week as we share some of the activities we will be taking part in during the week.
REMINDER: Year 8 and Year 9 2020/21 William Hamley Academy FB page launch
Thank you to all who have already signed up to this. It is not too late if you haven’t yet signed up.
Parents of students in year 9, please note this replaces the previous group which is now archived and you will need to join again.
Please follow the link below and sign up for details and posts of subject specific and age-related targeted activities and opportunities. These will include items from both the public domain and college and will include careers, Higher Education, wellbeing, competitions etc and will include things specifically for parents to discuss with their child.
This is a closed group and you will be asked for details of your child’s name and D.o.B. for access.
Please also encourage your child to regularly check their college email as this is key to quick communication, especially in the current circumstances. Year 8 and 9 parents/students will also be sent an email with these joining details.
We know the importance of parents/carers as influencers on their child and their future. If you are aware of anything that would be helpful to post to other parents please email me, or, if you have any questions please email Ms Devine on firstname.lastname@example.org
