NEW! Dropping off items for students

Where possible, please try to ensure that your child attends school with all necessary items in order to reduce the need for visitors to the college. However, if you need to drop off an essential item for your child in school hours, i.e. packed lunch, PE Kit, glasses etc, please try and message your child via mobile either before school starts, or during break or lunch time, and inform them that it has been dropped in to main reception for collection.  Please clearly mark the item with your child’s name and tutor group.

NEW! Suspension of tours for prospective students

As a result of current restrictions, we have had to postpone all pre-booked school tours for prospective Year 7 students and their parents/carers. We hope that these will be able to resume in the Spring Term and will contact those parents who had already made bookings in due course.

NEW! Park and Stride Launch

We are pleased to be launching the new Park & Stride Scheme this week in conjunction with Cornwall Council and Sustrans. Please look out for the email with further details.

NEW! Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal

Due to the current Covid 19 restrictions, unfortunately there will not be any collection tins for the Poppy Appeal at the college this year. Students are still encouraged to support the appeal by wearing a poppy and should they wish to donate to this year’s Poppy Appeal they can do so via the Royal British Legion page on this link.

REMINDER: Children in Need non-uniform day

Children in Need Day is being held on Friday 13th November 2020.

We will be holding a non-uniform day on this date in support of the charity, however we will not be collecting money from students due to Covid-19 restrictions and the disruption and uncertainty the current situation has caused.

If you would like to support the charity, there are a number of ways you can engage and interact with Children in Need by visiting their website:

REMINDER: Y10 &11 Emerging William Clift Academy FB page

Thanks to those of you who have signed up to this. There will be a flurry of posts as opportunities of all sorts are signposted to parents and students to select or discard as relevant to them. Most of these are in the public domain and are links to virtual delivered sessions.

Please note that this will not replace other methods of promotion and communication in college so for those without FB please encourage your students to check their college emails regularly and listen carefully to assembly and tutor briefings.

NEW! Year 8 and 9 2020/21 William Hamley Academy Facebook page launch

Following on from the launch of the EWCA for Years 10 and 11 and as a part of our ongoing aspirations work, we are now ready to launch our 2020-2021 FB group. Parents of students in year 9 please note this replaces the previous group which is now archived and you will need to join again. Please follow the link below and sign up for details and posts of subject specific and age related targeted activities and opportunities. This is a closed group and you will be asked for details of your child’s name and D.o.B for access.

Please also encourage your child to regularly check their college email as this is key to quick communication especially in the current circumstances. Year 8 and 9 parents/students will also be sent an email with these joining details.

Any questions please email Ms Devine on
