ICT - European Computer Driving Licence

The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) is an internationally recognised qualification that recognises the student’s competency in using ICT.

Students are required to take four different tests over the duration of the course. These demonstrate their practical knowledge of each topic. The topics are Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Improving Productivity. Once they have passed all of the module tests the students gain a grade equivalent to a GCSE 9 to 4.

The course is assessed electronically with the students taking tests in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Improving Productivity. The exams last for 45 minutes and test the students on practical aspects of the software packages. The students need 75% to pass the Word, PowerPoint and Excel exams and 55% to pass the Improving Productivity exam.
