Library
Our library (from French “librairie”; Latin “liber” = book) is an organized collection of resources made accessible to staff and students at Bodmin College for reference or borrowing. It provides physical and digital access to material in a modern, purpose built space.
Within the library you will discover books, periodicals, newspapers, maps, CDs, videotapes and a range of DVDs which can be used on site or borrowed. The library is organized for use and maintained by a dedicated librarian who is an expert at finding and organizing information and at interpreting information needs. In addition to this the library is often used to provide a quiet area for studying and to offer a common area to facilitate group study and collaboration.
The library provides a facility enabling staff and students to have unrestricted access to information in many formats and from many sources. It extends services beyond the physical walls of the building, by providing material accessible by electronic means, and by providing the assistance of the librarian and Library Helpers in navigating and analysing very large amounts of information. Equally books are frequently lent across the school for silent reading in tutor time.
