Further opportunities for those wishing to pursue a career in teaching are provided through our involvement in the School Experience Programme (SEP) which gives prospective applicants for initial teacher training (ITT) the opportunity to spend one or more observation days in school to gain an insight into the role and responsibilities of teachers.
The SEP targets high-quality graduates and undergraduates who are interested in teaching mathematics, chemistry, physics, modern foreign languages, history, English, geography, computer science or biology and hold, or are predicted, a first class or 2:1 degree. Eligible enquirers will be offered an initial one-day visit. Depending on eligibility and the availability of the host school, they may then be offered up to a further nine days at a time to suit the host school and participant.
