John Worster - President

John Worster – President

Hello, my name is John Worster. I am the current President of the 6th Form Council, a role which requires work and communication with the 6th form as well as overseeing and working towards the organisation of events and meetings with the rest of the council.

I’m studying Geography, English Literature, Music and Statistics currently at Bodmin 6th form, with the aim of going to university to study Geography, a course that I have recently become very passionate about. I am currently a member in Bodmin College Jazz Orchestra of which I play 1st Baritone Sax.

I am greatly looking forward to my time as president and working with both the council and members of staff here at the 6th Form. I am certain it will be a very rewarding experience; one which will develop some vital skills for University and further!

Alex Butters - Vice President

Alex Butters – Vice President

Hello, my name is Alex Butters and I am the current Vice President of the Council. I am studying English Literature, Business Studies and Leisure after finishing an AS in Statistics and Physics. I hope to study Business Management at university in the north of England or at Plymouth to be more local.

Outside of school I enjoy playing sports such as football and mainly golf. I look forward to working with both the year 13s and the New Year 12s to make your time in this great college as enjoyable as possible.

My name is Cassie Brewer and I am the Secretary for the Sixth Form Council. I have been a Bodmin College Student since year 7 and have actively taken part in council meetings throughout my time at the school. I currently study Biology, Maths and Chemistry and I hope to study Medicine at Exeter University with the aim of becoming a doctor in the future. I have taken part in both the Peer Mentoring and Paired Reading Schemes and I have a four week work placement over the summer. I look forward to helping to improve the Sixth Form for both Year 12 and 13 students and to making their time here as enjoyable as possible.

Hi, my name is Codie Pearce and I am on the social committee.  I went to Looe Community Academy before I joined Bodmin in September 2013.  I am studying Geography, Maths, Chemistry and PE.  Also, in my spare time, I do gig rowing and surfing.

Hello, my name is Luke Chapman and I’m a social member of the 6th form council. I’m currently studying biology, chemistry, graphic design and performing arts. My career aspirations are to become a charted engineer thus I would like to study agricultural engineering at university, coupled with my agricultural background. I’m a happy chappy who is easily approachable and have an elaborate sense of humour. I look forward to answering any questions and promoting the 6th form next year.

My name is Jess Dootson and I am on the Social Committee for the 6th Form council. I am currently studying Double Art and this takes up most of my time so you’ll probably never see me. I am enjoying life at Bodmin Sixth Form and I heartily recommend it to everyone!

 

Holly Yeo - Social Committee

Holly Yeo – Social Committee

Hi, I’m Holly Yeo, and I’m on the social committee. I have been in Bodmin College since Year 7, and I am studying Maths, Physics and Chemistry at A2, and I also studied Geography at AS.I hope to go on to study Chemistry at University, possibly at Bath. I attended a Summer School at Nottingham University, which was a great experience, and I have a Nuffield Bursary research placement over the holidays, both of which will be of benefit when writing my personal statement. I took part in DofE and Paired Reading in the lower years of school, and I have carried on with both of these in the 6th Form.

A Levels are a considerable step-up from GCSE, however I am enjoying my time here, and I’m definitely glad that I chose to come to Bodmin 6th Form.

Tommy Richardson - Charity Committee

Tommy Richardson – Charity Committee

Hi my name is Tommy Richardson and I am part of the 6th form Charity Committee. I am currently studying History, Photography, Public services, Art and Design and I am also involved in the rugby academy. In school I also participate in Paired Reading and Peer Mentoring. My interests out of school are rugby, swimming and football. At the end of 6th form I hope to go on to study History at university.

Tom Banks - Charity Committee

Hello, my name is Tom Banks, and I’m studying French, Fine Art, Psychology and English Literature, which will hopefully lead to me studying Clinical Psychology at university. I also attend some extra-curricular activities like Gold DofE and playing bass in the Jazz Orchestra, which are great experiences and look good on a CV. I only joined Bodmin in Year 12, but the staff and other students are so welcoming it feels like I’ve been here for years.

Bronwen Thomas - Charity Committee

Bronwen Thomas – Charity Committee

Hi, my name is Bronwen and I’m on the charity committee.

I study Biology, Chemistry, History and Maths and have just finished my extended project. Hopefully, after sixth form, I will be able to go and do a degree in biomedical sciences with these qualifications. I do Gold Duke of Edinburgh alongside my subjects which has proved to be very rewarding. I joined the sixth form for year 12 from Fowey Community College and have found it to be an incredibly welcoming and comfortable environment.

 

Sinead Connell - Vocational Rep

Sinead Connell – Vocational Rep

My name is Sinead Connell and I am a vocational student at Bodmin College Sixth Form. I am studying CACHE Level 3 Diploma, and will be going on to study English Literature and Language at ‘A’ Level soon, as reading and writing are my favourite pastimes. I hope to represent the vocational courses here, and give them a louder voice. If a student seems to have any troubles whatsoever, please consider speaking to me; I’d love to be of help.
