6th Form Council
6th Form Council Members
My name is Ruben Buts and I’m the President of the 6th Form Council; a position which requires me to organise meeting with the Council and the Principal, help the other Council members organise parties and fundraising events.
I am studying History, Music, English Literature and Biology, an active member of the College Jazz Orchestra. I hope to go on to university and study History – something I have had a great interest in throughout primary school and Bodmin College.
I look forward to my time in office, a brilliant opportunity and character building position in the 6th Form Council.
Hi I’m James and I’m the Vice President of the Council. I’ve been at Bodmin since Year 7 so know the school pretty well now. I’ve been an active member of councils all through school. I’m currently studying Maths, Physics and Biology in the hope of going on to study Accounting and Finance at Loughborough University. I’ve got an Internship this summer ‘shadowing’ at a corporate finance firm in Liverpool which should make my CV look extra good. I’m also a keen tennis player having played for the county since I was 12 and recently competed at the National Championships. Bodmin is a great Sixth Form with great people, teachers are approachable and friendly, always ready to help people with any problems. I wouldn’t rather be at any other Sixth Form.
My name is Danielle Ballamy I have been studying at Bodmin College since year 7. I am a year 12 vocational student studying a CACHE level 3 diploma in childcare and education. The course involves professional practices training in primary schools and nursery settings. My ultimate aim is to gain employment to become a teaching assistant or nursery nurse. I decided to stay on at Bodmin Sixth Form because of all the support I was given throughout secondary school. Due to the nature of the CACHE course we have many fund raising activity days such as Children in Need and Red Nose Day I’m hoping that I can work with the rest of the Council to further promote this.

Hi I am Zoe Carey and I am currently studying at Bodmin College and I am part of the 6th Form Council. I am studying Health and Social Care, Textiles and Photography; I am hoping to look at university courses based on Fashion Management. I take part in Paired Reading helping the Year 7’s improve their reading. For the past year I took part in a Young Enterprise Scheme which enables me to work with others as a team and I had to make hard decisions based on what everyone else wanted. Being in the 6th Form Council, I hope to listen to everybody’s opinions, and help as many people as I can.
My name is Carl; my main role in the Council is to help organise fundraising events. In Bodmin College Sixth Form I am currently studying Psychology, Philosophy and Ethics (R.E), and Applied Science. My hobbies are the following: archery, gaming, walking, and swimming. I am currently training for the 55 mile ten tors; I take part in D of E Gold and should finish it next year. I am part of the Paired Reading scheme to help develop reading skills of younger students of the college.
Hi, my name is Isabella Gelston and I am on the Committee of the 6th Student Council. I currently study English Literature, Performing Arts, Fine art and English Language. I am hoping to go into the career of journalism with creative writing, as English and reading is my passion, having enticed me substantially over the years.
Along with these subjects I take part in the International Amnesty group, who are currently in the process of bringing our aims to the lower years, Paired Reading, Art Ambassadors and Lifeguarding.
Outside of school I take part in an expanse of activities such as surfing, windsurfing, drama performances, most recently, the Royal Shakespeare’s production of Romeo and Juliet and golf.
I have been at Bodmin College since Year 9 and have loved the new experiences the faculty has given me. Joining the sixth form was a considerable step from GCSE and despite the steps and changes; it has been a terrific experience!
As a member of the Council I hope that you can confide in me and talk to me about ANYTHING that is troubling you.
